Welcome to High Maintenance Canine!

Become the owner your dog deserves, and build the relationship with your dog you've always wanted. Our goal is to coach you and your dog to become the best versions of yourselves, together. We strongly believe that dogs deserve the most out of life and therefore our training should focus on creating dogs with as many life skills, vnd as much real world obedience as we can teach them. Skills that will set your dog up to enjoy the most out of life.

Our training philosophy is simple; train with clarity, consistency and integrity. High Maintenance canine advocates for dogs, and respects them enough to provide leadership, structure and set boundaries. A dog that you look forward to walking after work. A dog content to rest politely at your feet while you enjoy your morning coffee on the patio. A dog that has the training to be included in family activities. Teach your dog to handle life so that they can enjoy all the parts of it!

It's perfectly acceptable, and even encouraged around here to want more from your dog! The version of your dog you envisioned when you decided to add a new family member is attainable.

We also want you to want more from your trainer! We also firmly believe that dogs deserve the best version of their owners. We provide the coaching for youto best understand what drives your dog. A truly fulfilling life with an animal goes so far beyond sit and stay. It's in the interactions of everyday life.  The loyal, constant companion relationship we crave with dogs is developed in the way we interact with them every single day. Join our family and let us guide you to become the owner your dog needs. Be high maintenance and pay attention to the little details, they matter!

The Euro Dog Model

Europe has dogs figured out! They are incredibly dog inclusive, and thus their dogs are incredibly well socialized from day one. Yet, they also respect dogs as dogs. No one pets or baby talks to a dog that isn't theirs. Good behavior is acknowledged, quietly, because it's also expected. Loving and spoiling a dog doesn't actually look like letting it do whatever it wants. True love and respect for dogs means wanting the best life for them possible. Providing the structure and training that enables that dog to be INCLUDED in so many more aspects of life is the core value that drives High Maintenance Canine. So take the dog out to lay tableside while you eat dinner. Open the car door for them to ride along while you run errands. Afterall, isn't the reason we have dogs to enrich our lives, and enrich theirs?

Since when is being high maintence a bad thing?
